I’ll Do Anything

When Julia Campbell and Cade Taylor meet on the steps of the county courthouse, Julia isn’t sure what to do. They are attorneys on opposing sides of a court case, and even though they haven’t seen each other for more than four years, the history of their volatile relationship comes back as if the years had not intervened. Now she must put aside her personal feelings, in order to professionally prosecute this case of manslaughter DUI against Cade’s client. But there is more than just a failed affair between them – there is a secret that Cade must never know.

Cade never knew why Julia wouldn’t listen to him when he tried to keep her from leaving him. Now he was a successful defense lawyer – and he still pined for Julia. Will this forced communication bring them back together, or finish the process of tearing them apart?

I thought this was a great book, and enjoyed it immensely. The author takes what could be a complicated plot and brings it off very smoothly. The plot is realistic and believable; the conflict is not a contrived conflict. I admired both the characters of Cade and Julia; they are smart, intense, and ethical, and their devotion to their work acts as both cause and solace of their emotional emptiness. Neither of them knows quite how to back down and say, “I’m sorry,” but they manage to figure it out in the course of the book. The male/female love scenes are hot and sexy. I feel sure that you’ll love this one as much as I do!
