Braless In The Buick
Allie Stephenson and her son M.J. move into her Aunt Maddie’s house, thinking it will be a new start after her divorce. That is, until she meets her neighbor. Jake Donally has the style that turns women’s heads but he never tries to get involved until he meets Allie. When M.J. becomes sick one morning on his paper route, she must step in and help deliver his newspapers. Without thinking, she throws a newspaper at Jake Donally’s house only to shatter his flowerpot; that doesn’t sit too well with him. As a Federal Agent, Jake is there on assignment, but he keeps a low profile to keep his real reasons for being in the neighborhood a secret.
Allie is certainly not dressed her best when she hurriedly exits the house to help M.J. with the papers. She feels like she could pass for the Bride of Frankenstein when she has a run-in with the man all the women are calling a stud-muffin. But when the flirtation begins, Jake wonders how Allie will accept him when she learns the real reason he lives next door and if she will ever forgive him.
Braless In The Buick is fun romp and is completely hilarious. The refreshing dialogue and delightful characters spin a charming tale of love and romance that keeps the pages turning. Allie and Jake go through a few twists and turns in their relationship allowing the reader to feel all the sensations that they exhibit throughout the story. Jake is the type of man who comes across strong but has the heart of a teddy bear, and his charismatic charm laces through the pages. The blending of the secondary characters enhances the story and gives it great depth with all the antics among the neighbors. Ms. Leigh pens a charming read with characters that stick in the mind. She incorporates a well-written story with action and wit that is absolutely lovely. Her well-developed characters and thought out plot spin a tale that this reader enjoyed. Ms. Leigh takes pen and paper and fashions a story that is a keeper. I look forward to more of her inspiring works.
