Wolfsbane: Aspect of the Wolf
Emilie Swanson, a fourth generation witch, is the owner of a magick shop, Mystikal Excursions. Setting up her own business in Cypress Park town has met its challenges. First, the previous owner of the shop, Chester Creek, had conjured up demons in the back room; Emilie and her coven helped to banish to banish them. Secondly, her arch nemesis, Daniel Garrison had brought it upon himself to make it difficult for Emilie to keep her new business running. With the residents weary and scared of associating themselves with Emilie and her store, the last thing she had expected was to see Daniel enter her store and ask for her help, the magical kind.
Wolfsbane: Aspect of the Wolf was full of suspense and mystery surrounded in romance and magic. Emilie is the least powerful witch in her family yet her enthusiasm and drive compensates for her inexperience. I found myself instantly loving this heroine for her courage and down to earth personality. Daniel deserves everything Emilie verbally dishes out. He is a hero that, at the beginning, I wanted to dislike but as the story unraveled, I found myself realizing his dilemma and admiring his character even more. Emilie and Daniel are enemies of sort, which makes for some interesting verbal banterings. When they put aside their differences and concentrate on the problem at hand, they become aware of the chemistry between them. The attraction they have for each other is romantic, quite stimulating and full of passion. I love Daniel’s protectiveness towards Emilie and his family, which to this reader, was his basis of his appeal. I enjoyed both main as well as the secondary characters in this tale. Vance, Daniel’s brother, and Charlotte, Emilie’s cousin, helped to unfold and provide a bit of humor to this tale.
Ms.Colgan has crafted a well written, entertaining and suspenseful tale that kept my attention from beginning to end. Her attention to details, scenery and the magical aspect, kept this reader reading through the wee hours of the night to get to the very end of the story, which I haven’t done in a long time. I hope to read future stories of Charlotte and the other Swanson women. An enjoyable tale for fans who love werewolves, witch craft and romantic stories.
