A Sixpence in Her Shoe

Smithsonian curator Melanie Parsons has a secret. She longs for a man to take control in the bedroom. Yet finding any man is difficult enough, since they are all either impressed or turned off by her traditionalist family. Finding an acceptable man who is also a dominant…well, she previously thought that to be impossible, but now Agent Brady Torres seems to be just who she has been looking for. Artifacts are being stolen from her department, and the Americas United Security – including Brady - has been called in to investigate. Who is stealing the artifacts, and why?

Brady had never thought to find a woman he could settle down with, but Melanie seems to be perfect for him. His only concern was whether she would allow him control in the bedroom, but after two months of dating with no sex, he finds out that Melanie is a closet submissive. Perfect! But before they can discuss the future of their relationship, the thief who has been stealing artifacts from Melanie's department needs to be captured. What does Brady discover during the course of the investigation, and does it turn him off Melanie? Will his plot to capture the thief using an heirloom dress from Melanie's family pay off, or be the cause of him losing her forever?

Liz Andrews' A Sixpence In Her Shoe, Book Three of The Wedding Dress series, is a sizzling novella with a dash of mystery and intrigue. Melanie and Brady are both strong and very well developed characters. Melanie dreams of ceding control to a man in the bedroom – if she can find a man whom she trusts enough. The chemistry between them is electric and the sex scenes are detailed and explicit – they also occur in places besides the bedroom. Be warned: A Sixpence In Her Shoe contains a D/s relationship, complete with spankings and some very brief anal play. Though this tale is not 'hardcore' D/s, this part of Melanie and Brady's relationship is not buried in the background. It is not something you can turn a blind eye to. However, if you have read the previous Wedding Dress stories, then I suggest you read this tale also, even if a D/s relationship is not your preferred reading material. The plot is strong and flows smoothly, and all of the characters are great. A Sixpence in Her Shoe has proven to be a steamy whodunit tale, enjoyable and well written – and a fabulous addition to the Wedding Dress series.
