Blue Silver: Making Noise
Faith Hennessy focuses most of her energy on her work. A youth counsellor for homeless runaways, she has made it her mission in life to try to help young female runaways, to get them to see that sex and drugs are not the best path to take in life. Being the perfect role model means conservative clothes and no outlandish behaviour, but heck. A woman has needs, and it has been way too long since her needs were serviced. Faith has got a thing for musicians, always has. As a teenager she used to fantasize about the band Blue Silver; nowadays the man she is hankering after, fellow youth councillor Shontae Pepper, keeps cancelling their dates. What's a girl to do? When an old friend persistently phones trying to convince her to attend the Blue Silver reunion concert, Faith decides a break is just what she needs. Maybe, away from her responsibilities, she'll be able to let loose and rediscover her old, outgoing self, have a bit of…fun. Unexpectedly, relief from her months long drought comes in the form of Troy, the Blue Silver drummer. But the only thing that'll come of the heat between them is a single night, right? Will her loss of inhibitions have consequences for her job, her inhibitions…her heart?
Making Noise is a remarkable tale about a woman with many restrictions on her life, and who lets go with a bang. And what a bang, let me tell you. Faith cares a great deal for the young girls she is determined to help, but she needs to find the balance between helping them and having a life of her own – not an easy thing to do. Having read most of this series now, I must comment that the way in which all of the authors have worked together is fabulous. At several points in each tale, the heroines get together and in each book, all of these events jive with one another seamlessly. There have been no inconsistencies in any of the stories, for which I am thankful, as inconsistencies are one of my pet peeves. Making Noise is particularly intricately connected to No More Pretend, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about events from the flip side of Faith and Troy as opposed to No More Pretend's Marci. There is sex in this tale, graphically described and very adventurous. Sex scenes involve a glass elevator, a little voyeurism, a vibrator, oral sex, anal play and – wait for it – group sex! Woohoo, talk about a HOT scene. Please be aware the group sex is M/F/F/M, so if woman-on-woman action is not your thing…ah well, what a shame. For one hot read with fabulously developed characters, collect your copy of Making Noise today. Heck, pick up the whole Blue Silver AmberPax collection. One thing is for sure: the entire Blue Silver series is fabulous, and one not to be missed!
