Torrid Teasers Volume 13

Shadows Over Sea View

Victoria moves into her grandmother's mansion, Sea View, half-expecting and half-hoping to meet the ghost rumoured to live there. She had heard the tales from her grandmother, and was eager to see if they were true. Unusual breezes against her nape and erotic dreams would certainly seem to suggest that Sea View is haunted. But then she meets Quentin. He is the man from her dream, yet he is not a man at all. Just what he is, Victoria doesn't know. Who can enter ones dreams, vanish and turn into mist, leaving no trace of their previous presence? A ghost? A figment of her imagination? Or something darker?

Midnight In His Garden

Growing up, Emily never felt as though she was a part of her family. She was treated differently by her parents and always felt adrift. On their latest family get together, listening to the arguing occurring inside the house from outside, Emily wishes herself away from it all. She never expected Garren, the King of Fey, to whisk her away to his world. She had never even known that such a world existed. Yet, she feels more at home there than she ever has before. Why could that be? And why what does the King want from her? Whatever it is, he has given her until the next day at midnight to make her decision. Stay in Haven, where she feels at home, or return to her previous world where she always felt as if she never belonged. What will she choose?

Torrid Teasers Volume 13 contains two delightful novellas by Susan M. Sailors. The first tale, Shadows Over Sea View, is a tale of redemption. The second, Midnight In His Garden, is a story of self-discovery, finding where one truly belongs. Each story is a magical concoction, and each is from different strands of the paranormal. Shadows Over The Sea is not what it at first appears to be. The hero is certainly mysterious, but what he is is carefully concealed from the reader until the author is ready to reveal all. Midnight In His Garden also contains a twist; only this time with regards to the heroine. In both stories, all is not as it would appear at first glance, but not even a hint is given in either story until Susan M, Sailors allows the reader the knowledge of the truth. Both of the novellas in this collection are deliciously detailed, with a good solid character development and plot. Love scenes in these tales are also described in a fair amount of detail, but not in graphic or offensive language, nor containing any of the more adventurous sex acts – apart from, perhaps, encounters in the great outdoors. Torrid Teasers Volume 13 is a delectable collection of two tales that are sure to appeal to any paranormal fan. Well written, enjoyable and unpredictable, each story is a fabulous quick read which tempts me to read more from Susan M. Sailors.
