Half-Breed

Alexa is half werewolf, half human which means that she has extra strength and sensory perception, but that she can’t shift. This also means that she is considered either an oddity or a mutt by most shape shifters. Most of her life, Alexa belonged to a group of mercenaries called the Hunt Club who specialize in the assassination of shape shifters. Her husband, Matt, doesn’t know about her past life, and Alexa wants to keep it that way. Matt chose her as his mate and was shunned by his pack as a result. To make matters worse, whenever they find a new place to live, Matt’s old pack leader finds a way to get them chased out of town. This time, though, the pack in Atlanta where they currently live isn’t chasing them out. They are actually considering inviting them into their pack. But Alexa’s past begins to catch up with her and threaten their second chance. Will they ever find a place to call home?

I really liked this book. Alexa is a strong female character who is trying to make a life for herself despite her circumstances. I really found the bi-racial pack issues fascinating. I also like the fact that Alexa was not a pushover. Matt is a wonderful mate for Alexa. The relationship between these two is wonderfully complex and interesting. The struggle Alexa goes through reconciling her past life with her possible future with the Atlanta’s pack kept me interested. The action is pretty exciting, too. The ending was good, and makes me hope for a sequel that continues the story.
