Taking the Cake

When Mollie Mason decided to surprise her husband-to-be at his bachelor party by jumping out of a cake, she never imagined that she’d unwittingly stumble into such a humiliating scene. After bearing witness to her deceitful fiancé’s cheating, Mollie storms out of the room, but she doesn’t get far.

Cade Gallagher has vivid memories of Mollie from high school even though they were only passing acquaintances. Despite years past, his reputed wild ways still linger in the minds of his classmates and prompt Mollie to ask for his temporary help shedding her inhibitions. He quickly agrees to aid her, but he has a plan of his own to convince her that they could have more than a two-week affair. Will one or both succeed?

Ms. Davies has transformed a fairly common daydream into a wantonly thrilling book. Now, if necessary, we can all live vicariously through Mollie. After what begins like a page out of an embarrassing nightmare takes an uplifting turn, she works to discover the wild woman hidden beneath her slightly shy and reserved façade. And let’s not forget to credit (i.e. fantasize about) the hunky Cade’s support and wicked tutelage. If you’re craving a sweet read that remains hot enough to make you melt, Taking the Cake is a delicious choice.
