Double Dare

Zac Bordino has found himself in a bind, he has spent the past few years building his reputation as a patron of the arts and now his mother wants him to take over her company and its investments. He knows that the only way to get his mother to settle down and relax is by acquiescing to her demands, but he needs to see exactly how much work this will be. He is drafted to deliver paperwork to the brokerage firm that is handling his mother’s account for the interim. While in an elevator he makes a sizzling connection with a gorgeous redhead who happens to be a receptionist at the brokerage firm.

Abby Douglas has been struggling with men being intimidated by her brains her whole life. When she feels a connection with a gorgeous courier she decides to say that she’s a receptionist in order to save herself a rejection later down the line. When they act on the scorching heat they generate, they plunge into a relationship that is rife with deceit. If the deceit comes to light, can they swallow their pride and forgive?

Double Dare is a sensuous read that explores the many facets of both Zac and Abby’s personalities. I was a bit taken aback by the wanton behavior that Abby displays in the beginning, but upon reading further it is just another facet of a very complex character. Zac fascinated me and I enjoyed reading about his interactions with his friend and employee, Nathan, as well as his family structure. These two characters are a perfect match and the combustible love scenes throughout the book serve to underscore their compatibility. I also enjoyed the unique flavor that Saskia Walker, as an English writer, adds to all of her books.
