Rowan Evans is averse to two things in life: not having control over how she lives and flying. The former is due to all the bodyguards and security she had to put up with as a child as a result of her father’s wealth. The latter…well, who knows? Problem is, thanks to the latest crackpot who’s popped out of the woodwork, Rowan is soon not only going to have her actions dictated by her father’s security team, but she’s going to be flown out of the country. It’s all for her own safety, of course. But that doesn’t make her desire to kill Jack Donnelly, head of security and the man whose bed she has been avoiding for two years, lessen any.

The threats against his employer and daughter are something Jack takes very seriously. He’ll do anything to keep them safe. Including drugging and kidnapping Rowan. He knows she won’t willingly get on a plane, but they need to get her as far from home as possible. Destination: Ireland. She’ll be spitting mad when she awakens, but maybe he can turn that anger into something else. Something that could ease the ache he’s been struggling with for two years. He knows Rowan’s attracted to him, but will she at last give in to temptation? Can he keep her safe from the religious group that’s after her? What’ll her reaction be when she finds out he’s a vampire?

Tooth and Nailed, my second Hannah Murray book, is a spicy paranormal tale with a healthy dose of suspense mixed into the plot. Both of the main characters, Rowan and Jack, are very strong, personality wise and development wise. They strike sparks off one another and help make for an engaging and enjoyable story. Secondary characters tend to be more in the background; the focus is definitely on Rowan and Jack for much of the tale. The plot itself is solid, with a smooth flow, plenty of hot sex and a gradual build up of tension. Tooth and Nailed will surely get your heart pumping, from more than one source. There is some violence, but it isn’t gone into in an overly detailed manner and our hero…well, let’s just say he is definitely our heroine’s hero. I never want to be in her shoes, but should I ever I’d like a guy like Jack. It takes him awhile, but better late than never. Sex is hot and involves biting, multiple positions and locations (including out and about, so to speak), as well as some very brief anal play. A fabulous plot that holds your attention, gets you hot under the collar and strung like a string…what more do you want? By gosh, you’re a demanding lot!
