Carly has decided that the harried life of an up and coming career woman is not for her, with enough money from her stressful time in the rat race, she has moved to a rustic farmhouse in the Wyoming wilderness. Little does she know that her new home has more secrets than she may be able to handle.

Professor Dmitri Belakov is the Master Vampire of the area and has to make a difficult decision, introduce Carly to the reality of vampires and other paranormal beings and enter into an agreement with her, or kill her. While learning about her he finds her entirely too interesting to kill and offers her an interesting proposal, lie with him at night and guard him during the day.

This installment of Bianca D’Arc’s vampires brings us the lives and loves of Dmitri and Carly, a pair of lovers thrust together by Fate and having no issue with it. These two characters jumped off the pages and danced through my front room as I read. In such a short story Ms. D’Arc lays out a believable plot, and fleshes out two strong characters that mesh very well. I am excited to see more within this sphere of friends.
