Raindrops Keep Falling on my Dead
Lingerie designer Cindy Plunkett’s Uncle Buck, who was recently killed in a rodeo accident three days prior, had come back as a chimp. This was not unusual for Uncle Buck, the shape was, but not the dying part. He was a shape shifter and had died three times in the last ten years. Cindy hoped to find out the details at the reading of Uncle Buck’s will.
At the reading Cindy learns who and what she comes from and there’s more to Uncle Buck’s ‘accidental death’ than she thought. There’s an evil underground society and she must help expose and extinguish them. While Cindy is not thrilled at her Uncle Buck’s request, he’s her only family since her parents died. She couldn’t let him down. Saving the rodeo meant everything to Uncle Buck.
Cindy would also have to accept his other wishes. Even if it meant a living space with one of the sexiest rodeo rider half shape-shifter, half vampires in town…Tanner Stone. This wouldn’t be the first time Cindy had dealings with Tanner. The memories made her very, very warm. Most recently he’d been a jerk and she was not happy that he was a part of Uncle Buck’s will and stipulations. Why did Uncle Buck insist it be Tanner?
Cindy was about to learn of her place in the world of Uncle Buck and Tanner. It was a lot for a gal to process in such a short time span. Especially a gal that thought she was human her entire life.
Mia Romano tells a tale of family bonds, good vs. evil, with a mix of comedy and a bit of hot love scenes. The relationship between Cindy, Uncle Buck, and Tanner are touching and makes this story believable. Raindrops Keep Falling On My Dead is an excellent short read and all of the mysterious pieces are tied up in the sweet ending. Mia Romano’s imagination, attention to detail, and love of story writing are apparent in Raindrops Keep Falling On My Dead. I will be on the lookout for more of her work. This was a fun, quick read!
