When Andrei Di Claudio hears a woman’s sultry voice singing, he is poleaxed. He must find this woman and make her his. His heart tells him that she just might be the mate that he has always longed to find. Unfortunately, before he can reach her, trouble finds her.

When her tour bus stops to refill, Alexa is attacked by a preternatural creature that forces her to take his blood. Andrei comes to her rescue, but just barely. The change into becoming a vampire is already beginning for Alexa. The evil vampire Balfent wants Alexa as his newest plaything, and he’ll do anything to have her. After rescuing Alexa, Andrei takes off after Balfent.

The terror isn’t over for Alexa though. Now she’s hearing Balfent’s voice in her head, telling her to come to him. It’s chilling and makes her worry over not only her own safety but that of her two employees. But Andrei is back to protect and watch over Alexa. After formally introducing himself, he invites her back for some refreshments in the hopes of not only getting to know her, but of telling her what is happening in her life. He is after all the only person who truly understands the changes she is facing as he and his two cousins were also changed by Balfent. It is more than protection he wants to offer her though; he wants her as his forever mate. But will Alexa accept what she is going through, or will she be too frightened by both Balfent and Andrei?

Anything is a smart and sweet vampire romance. Alexa and Andrei fall in love quickly, but it works well with all the other instantaneous and out of control changes Alexa is facing. Her new feelings for Andrei help to anchor her world when it is shifting. Balfent proves to be a truly villainous character, and it is obvious that he is not through yet with playing with this trio of cousins. The interactions between Andrei and his cousin were also really fascinating and helped to delve into his character more. All in all, Anything is a strong start to J.J. Massa’s latest trilogy. I look forward to watching Andrei’s cousins fall in love.
