Evan is ready to rid herself of her pesky little hymen. She’s twenty-six years old, her father is the sheriff and she’s the town vet. These things tend to scare a guy away. However, when she hog-ties and threatens her friend Jena’s brother in an interesting mistaken identity case, she knows that she’s finally found the man to help her with her issue. Only one problem: he doesn’t ‘do’ virgins.

Ty has come back to Texas for his sister’s wedding and is looking forward to seeing her and her fiancé Harm. He hardly expects to be tied up and threatened with a paring knife when he arrives. After the little misunderstanding is cleared up, a whole new problem rears its head. Evan is determined to have Ty deflower her. As much as it pains him, he cannot do it. He knows that virgins have expectations after the deed is done and he’s just here to visit.

These two hard-headed people are so busy trying to get what they want that they might just miss what they need.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters were well-fleshed, figuratively and literally. They were both very strong people who knew how to get what they wanted. The bedroom scenes were scorching and very inspirational. I don’t usually read ‘westerns’, but this is one series that I will follow. Patrice Michelle did such a good job of melding the background and the characters that it didn’t have that backwoods feel that some westerns do. I fully intend on getting the rest of these books and so should you.
