Heart’s Delight
Elaine picked up her birthday present from the antique store and was very happy to hang it above her mantle. The gorgeous mirror was just the thing to give her spartan living room the beginnings of sophisticated décor. She continued to admire it and was amazed to notice something in the mirror, a shadow. She looked behind her and saw nothing and when she looked back at the mirror there was an entirely new living room reflected in the mirror. She couldn’t believe her eyes, especially when she saw people appear in the mirror dressed in period clothing. It appeared that the mirror was serving as a window into the past. When a dashing man named Quinn appeared in the mirror, Elaine was instantly taken by his ruggedness and manly appearance. She found herself reaching for him and finding that the mirror may not be serving only as a window, but perhaps as a door, too.
Quinn has never followed convention, and has been trying to prove himself to his father for years. He finally has that opportunity in his grasp, but finds himself in circumstances rivaling a Jules Verne novel. He has found himself one hundred and twenty-five years in the future in the home of a beguiling young widow. He knows that he must return to his time for his sister and her family, but he finds himself ensnared in Elaine’s gaze and knows that he’s been brought here for a reason, especially when strange things begin to happen around her ranch.
I could not believe how amazingly imaginative this book was. The descriptions of the house, the characters, and the events were so well done that you will feel as if you are living things right there with Elaine and Quinn. Margrett Dawson has done a wonderful job of creating a hot and sweet romance between Quinn and Elaine and weaving it into a fascinating plotline filled with betrayal and jealousy. I could not put down this book and found myself surprised by the ending. It was wonderful. Thank you so much for a truly enjoyable read.
