Amy loved Andrew Bowen but everyone in her little town had hopes of her marrying his brother, Tony. Ever since the two brothers moved to Yewbank, she has formed a strong friendship with them. They were inseparable as loyal friends until Andrew turned fifteen and sought other companions. Then Amy had to express her true feelings to Andrew only to be served rejection which led to Tony being there for her. When Andrew became older and desired to seek his fortune, he left for Melbourne. As time passed, with long hours and hard grind, he decided to take his well-earned fortune and return home. Amy has tried to build a friendship with Tony but something is still missing. After Andrew returns and decides to open up a health complex with a sport’s store, Amy wonders if he will be able to forgo the calmer life. What surprises her more is when Andrew asks for her hand in marriage. It is like a dream come true until her mind begins to be filled with doubts that may break up their happy union. She knows that whatever she decides that Tony would not be left alone in the dark, especially when Samantha Robinson has been giving him the eye. Yet torn between two brothers she still doesn’t wish to do anything that might leave her with regrets.

Irresistible Challenge is a most enjoyable read. With refreshing characters and a well-written storyline the reader is immediately drawn into a family at odds with each other. Amy is a believable character who is often confronted with so many obstacles; she is often faced with much anger. Andrew’s sexy charm transcends through the pages and he is a likeable person. Ms. McGill does a good job in creating a friendship that begins in the early years and lasts into the later years with strong feelings that are sometimes hard to let go as real issues ensue. I liked her comment about the magic ingredient that marriage needs. She creates a hometown, adds some delightful main characters, then blends some secondary ones into a storyline that often rings true to make this one irresistible read with emotions that dance through the pages. This is a story that this reader thoroughly enjoyed and comes highly recommended.
