A Kiss at Midnight
A Kiss at Midnight is an exciting erotic anthology collection of three stories with M/M themes. Hold onto your hats as characters in these tales experience New Year's Eve like never before!
First Footer by Jules Jones
The New Year’s superstition of the first foot over the threshold bringing luck to the household provided it belongs to a dark-haired man with a lump of coal and a bottle of whiskey gets a new twist on it in First Footer by Jules Jones. Matthew and his group of scientists and sci-fi writer friends never dreamed that they’d come into contact with a real alien, and Matthew couldn’t have ever even imagined that the alien Hraldrin would be attracted to him.
First Footer is a fantastic story about the meeting of two races and the romance between two males of those different races and all the details and confusion that can bring. Great world-building effort by Jules Jones! I was hooked into this fascinating premise from the first page.
The Burning Man by Ally Blue
Zach Washington is working toward his doctorate in archaeology on a dig of a Cree Indian village when the discovery of a mysterious statue changes everything. He’s soon paired up (in more ways than one) with the man of his dreams, Dr. Jonathan Castille, and the two tumble head over heels into bed and danger when they pursue categorizing and dating the statue.
Ally Blue’s The Burning Man is filled with passion, danger and is sprinkled with enough history to make this possibly the first homo-erotic suspense that I’ve read. It’s refreshing to find erotic material that has an intriguing, meaty plot to go along with the smoking hot bedroom scenes. This story is an excellent work, with just enough danger to hone “yum” in to “YUM”. The relational aspects of this tale were finely crafted as well, and watching the lead characters dip a toe into the pool of *gasp* commitment was superb.
Wildest Dreams by Emily Veinglory
One blood-soaked evening changed Luke’s life. Now, he’s distanced himself from his pack and only has one friend, an old man named Doc, to call his own. At Doc’s urging, Luke takes himself off to the bar to look for companionship. There he finds Charles, a fellow shifter, and they indulge in a liaison. Soon, Luke’s past begins to catch up with him, and he finds himself in a whole heap of trouble. He’s trying to multitask; he’s got to stay alive, keep his job, hide from the bad guys, sort out his lovers, and resist the call of the wild. And it’s a big job for one lonely werewolf.
Emily Veinglory delivers yet another delicious, spine-tingling story of love and lust, paranormal-style. Her tales just keep getting better and better. Luke is a wolf trying to come to grips with who and what he is, and the group that’s after him may just kill him or the various members of his were-family before he can truly accept himself. Never in his worst nightmares could he have dreamed of hooking up with a motley crew of friends (and species) to fight his past. Darkly entertaining and completely engrossing, this beauty by Ms. Veinglory ties up all of the loose ends perfectly, but still leaves room for sequels – please! – in Wildest Dreams.
