The Reward

Malcolm Ross y Zarza, “Hermano”, to the people who don’t know of his past, has decided to finally go home. Home to a mother he hasn’t spoken to in 15 years, to a father who allowed his stepmother to almost kill him, and to his childhood best friend who he hopes is still around. Not wanting to announce his presence before he is ready, Malcolm decides to look for work on a neighboring ranch owned by Leigh Wynne O’Reilly, his childhood shadow who is now all woman. Widowed and on the verge of ruin, Leigh is a feisty ranch owner not willing to accept Malcolm onto her ranch without some answers. Shocked to see the man she loved even as a child, Leigh’s body goes haywire. Leigh suffers from uncontrollable needs that course throughout her body at the sight of Malcolm’s hard flesh. She wants to spend all her time in his arms.

However, two old friends destined from birth to be mates will have to rid themselves of the evil lurking in the shadows, craving their deaths, before they can find peace in each other’s arms.

The Reward is another magnificent creation from the mind of a brilliant author. This latest installment brings us another look into the Malloy family with a clearer picture of “Hermano” who is a friend to Nicky, a thorn in the side of her husband Tyler but a loyal friend and brother to all the Malloys. Malcolm and Leigh’s story is romantic, passion filled and touching. Leigh is just the kind of heroine I love to read about, not the prettiest filly on the block but strong, loyal, loving and one deserving of true adoration. Her life long spiritual connection to Malcolm and the friendship they share make the love they have that much sweeter. It never fails that when I read a Beth Williamson book I find myself submerged in a wide rainbow of emotions and I’m utterly spent by the last word. From laughter at some of the clever dialogue to shedding a tear when the emotional peaks are at their highest, whether it’s from something joyful or distressing, this is what storytelling was meant to be. Ms. Williamson has the ability to jump into a reader’s mind and soul and leave prints that can never be removed. I can’t stress enough the pleasure you will miss if you sleep on this author’s great work.
