Rafael Stone is shocked and impressed to find a detective waiting for him unannounced. He is even more taken with her witty personality, fierce determination, and beauty. When he learns there has been a murder and he happens to be the prime suspect, Rafael promises his expertise and body in order to show Detective Lyons that she is wrong about him. He didn’t murder the man she thinks he did; however, she also doesn’t know that he heads a team of shape-shifters that hunt down and stop rogue shape-shifters by any means necessary. Can Rafael prove his innocence and keep his secret safe or will Detective Lyons be very thorough in her investigation of Rafael?

Lycan Pack 1: Lycan Instinct is the first installment in what is sure to be an explosively remarkable series by Brandi Broughton. With a cast of characters and a suspenseful plot, readers cannot go wrong with this one. Mackenzie is driven to be the best, take no crap, relentless detective on the force. Her desperation to solve murders and catch the bad guys is just a small piece of who she really is. Underneath her tough shell, Mackenzie feels compassion and understanding for the families left behind. Rafael is an alpha male shape-shifter that has met his match, loving the challenge, and refusing to back down. Whether he is in the midst of his public personality or showing the one he keeps hidden away, Rafael is an amazing man, brother, and match for Mackenzie. If one alpha male wasn’t enough for you, Rafael has two brothers that appear throughout this story: Gabe, the scientific one, and Lucian, the rebel. This reader assures you that one of the Stone brothers will claim your heart and I only hope you have an easier time picking which one that is. I loved them all. Brandi Broughton has done a tremendous job keeping me guessing about the who and why’s of the crimes that take place surrounding Chicago until the very end, while also keeping me gripped to my chair addicted to Mackenzie and Rafael’s chemistry. I could not have asked for a better story and can only hope the second installment is here shortly. Lycan Instinct is definitely one to add to your permanent bookcase and has this reader recommending it to every reader that loves a great shape-shifting story. 5 Angels & Recommended Read
