Being dumped before your wedding by a letter stating that your groom had decided you were gay can really hurt a woman’s emotions and feelings. Cassandra Bishop, aka CB, is not your typical woman, acting more like a man instead of woman. Who can blame her since she grew up with a father and a brother who constantly took advantage of her? The only person who has been her best friend is Burke Halifax, a man who is seriously tempting her to put aside her need for vengeance. You see, her fiancé came back to marry a skinny, blond, blue-eye woman, a total opposite from CB. Now, because of this, CB is determined to become a woman; whether she’s allergic to dye color or sick of wearing dresses, she’ll do anything to make that happen, including going to Burke asking for lessons in seduction to become a real woman.

Burke Halifax has never had a serious girlfriend in his life. Only one woman has been constant through in his life -- CB, his best friend. However, ever since she came to him begging for lessons to seduce back her ex-fiancé, Burke is thinking of her in a different light. It doesn’t help that the lower part of him is coming alive again after months of dormancy. He can’t understand why she would want to change what’s beautiful about herself for a man who ran out on her with lies. Can he make her see that she doesn’t need a make-over because there’s one person who thinks she’s already beautiful? Can this new change in their friendship lead to something greater than just being friends?

One word to describe Betting Hearts is WOW! The book has everything, from lies, deceit, even passion, and two people so stubborn it’s hard to not like them. I so loved Burke for his holding back in giving in to CB’s request. Here’s a man who’s always helped his friends, but this one totally blows him away. CB herself is a woman you will love, for she is misunderstood in her own right. The things she goes through just to become a woman are so funny you will laugh out loud. LOL Not only is this a great, funny book, but one you will so want to keep. Samhain sure has a winning author. This one is definitely on my keeper shelf. Dee Tenorio just rocks with this book, and I can’t wait for more from this author.
