From London with Love

Love of their country had brought them back together…now it threatens to tear their love apart

Lady Northam, Meredith Sinclair, had proved her worth as a spy. She was an asset because as an established member of the ton and a pretty young widow, she was never given a second glance. However, it will take everything she has to complete her mission to bring in Tristan Archer. Lord Carmichael was not just widely respected but also well known to Meredith; she had lost her heart to him in her youth before she was forced into a loveless marriage.

Meredith foolishly believes that her past will give her easy access to Tristan. Little does she realise that her childhood crush had never been resolved or that he still holds her heart. Her mission to investigate an art theft and therefore discover who is selling England’s military secrets has lead straight to Tristan. She knows that he is heavily involved with Augustine Devlin, a suspected traitor. To uncover Tristan, Meredith must get close to him.

Tristan did not want his mother to invite Meredith to the gathering at his country estate. He had kept away from her for many years. He had never spoken of his regard for Meredith and now that he is involved in a deadly deal, he does not want to place her in any danger. Yet, Meredith is able to slip past his steely determination and soon unleashes a passion Tristan did not know that he possessed. Her curious interest in Devlin is placing them both in danger but Tristan can never reveal to her the real reasons behind his unsavoury friendship.

Although the female spy ring and their chief, Charlie, had this reader reminiscing recent movie releases the similarity stops there. Jenna Petersen’s spy novel has all the elements to keep a Regency romance fan hooked. In the midst of deception and vengeance are marriage-minded mamas, misguided manservants and spicy in-between the sheets action. This spy drama had this reader intrigued until the final chapters unfolded, however it is the budding romance that kept me glued to the pages. The erotic moments are brief but nothing is held back; their shared passion has been held in check for too long to be restrained. If you love romances that curl your toes and tales that provide page turning excitement you will find a place for From London with Love on your keeper shelves.

Jenna Petersen’s prior releases include Scandalous and Fallen Angel in the Parlour Games anthology, she also writes as Jess Michaels.
