Heaven

Heaven by Jet Mykles is a contemporary homoerotic romance. As the story begins, Tyler Purcell is taking care of his invalid father Justin. Tyler’s family owns and runs a hotel called The Weiss Strand Hotel. With his sister Amy and his friends Edward and Rebecca, who also work at the hotel, he is banking everything that they have on the grand opening of The Weiss’s new dance club, The White Room, with a very famous group called Heaven Sent performing. The arrival of the band heralded much fanfare by the press and the group’s fans. The first time Tyler saw Johnny Heaven he was stunned. Tyler had seen him in concert, but close up Johnny was everything anyone, male or female, could want. From the start Johnny has an unusual interest in Tyler, much to Tyler’s bemusement. Johnny finds out that the two of them have a common interest, Play Station 2, and he invites Tyler to come play the game with him after work. In the beginning, Tyler and Johnny were just having a great time, but Johnny began to make moves on Tyler, to Tyler’s confusion and subconscious encouragement. Tyler keeps telling Johnny that he is not gay, but Johnny said he wasn’t either. This was just an itch to scratch, for the sheer enjoyment of it. The first kiss between Johnny and Tyler was beyond hot!!! It went past anything that Tyler had ever experienced and he was very frightened about what it would mean. To say that Johnny knew exactly what he was doing to make Tyler almost loose control is to say the least. This reader would LOVE to meet Johnny in person, he sounds good enough to eat!!! Johnny allowed Tyler to leave, but he was still actively pursuing him in any manner to get his man. Opening night was a success in more than one way. Johnny teaches Tyler what it can be like between them and Tyler loves every minute of it. Unfortunately, Johnny’s job with the band makes it difficult to form any long-term relationships. To make matters even worse, Tyler has not told any of his family about what happened between Johnny and him yet. Add on Tyler’s father’s illness and all the problems that go along with being a super hot rock band, and you have tons of problems that could get in the way of a long-term relationship between Tyler and Johnny.

The relationship between Johnny and Tyler was very unique. On one side you have Johnny who is a super hot rock star who could have anyone he wanted, but he just wanted Tyler. On the other side, you have Tyler who is drawn to Johnny, but he can’t understand why of all people Johnny would want him. Johnny sees in Tyler a blond stud, but Tyler sees himself as just ordinary. Johnny needs to overcome all of Tyler’s contradictory feelings and come to terms with his own very strong feelings of love toward Tyler. Tyler also has to come to terms with his feelings before he could loose the best thing that has ever come along for him.

Ms Mykles did a phenomenal portraying the feelings and emotions that Tyler and Johnny had. She makes Johnny not only drop dead gorgeous, but sensitive and faithful to boot. Tyler is the typical clueless guy that has to learn that some chances come along only once in a life time and you have to hold on tight and never let them go. It is this reader's hope that Ms Mykles will write more books in this genre. I give this book a 5 and a Recommended read!!!!!
