Paige Cavanaugh is fed up with men. When her third engagement ends in humiliation, Paige is determined to get away from her old life and start fresh somewhere new. Ryan Cutter is like no man Paige has ever known, but Paige is not going to let her growing feelings for him get in the way of her newfound independence. As she and Ryan become closer, Paige fears what will happen when he learns the secret she has been keeping.

Ryan Cutter knows that the beautiful, young city woman that has breezed into town will not be satisfied with being in White Tail for long. Paige Cavanaugh is definitely a woman to stay away from, but Ryan cannot seem to make himself stay away. With Paige reluctant to open up to him about her past, Ryan knows that he will not be able to help ease the burden that is weighing on her. Paige’s past returns to haunt them, maybe shattering their new found relationship.

Judith Rochelle’s Love With a Proper Rancher is a wonderful tale of love finding us when we least expect it. The characters, both main and secondary, are well developed and will endear themselves to the reader. Paige and Ryan each have demons to face in order to have the relationship they want. The road to love is rocky for Paige and Ryan as they have to confront not only their past but must struggle to find out if they have a future. I enjoyed the growth and maturing each had to go through. This is a wonderful story and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rochelle.
