Vivica Blake is a horror writer with writer’s block. She decides to travel to England, the setting in her books, hoping it will inspire her to write again. While there, she even tries to write a romance, her secret love. The romance is horrible, but she can’t delete the whole thing because her main character typifies her ideal man. She will just save him for a rainy day. While visiting a castle, Vivica sees a sign in the distance for the town Foggy Bottoms. That’s the name of the town in her books! She just has to visit it. When she steps onto the path to the town, she looks back, and the Castle is nowhere in sight. Vivica is now trapped in a world literally of her own making. The only shining light in this dark realm of her imagination is Hunter Gray, the romance hero she so desired. Dealing with this alpha man isn’t what she expected, though. He knows she is the Creator, and he was raised to believe her death would mean his freedom, making Foggy Bottoms a part of the real world.

This book was amazing! Having a writer trapped in her own world is ingenious. Add in that the people in her world have some free will and she can’t affect everything according to her whims, and you have one great plot. Hunter is a wonderful character. He is strong, stubborn, and hot. Add the emotional turmoil, and he is one well-rounded character. Vivica is courageous, smart-mouthed, yet vulnerable. She had been burned in a relationship before. I loved the main villain as well. He is not your cut and dried bad guy. The evil vampire Rez wants freedom. He is horrible, but there are human qualities to him. He is determined to win his freedom by killing the Creator. Vivica must kill him if she wants the story to end, only ending the story means leaving Hunter. The conflict of Vivica’s desire to escape and her desire to stay enhanced the plot. My only minor compliant is that there are a few repetitious words used for description. Other than that, this is a definite must-read.
