Enos Larimore returned to a place he had named Lonesome, an isolated
Valley, only to find someone had set up a homestead there. He discovered that a
young woman was living there alone in a ramshackle cabin. He was smitten with her at first glance, even though she was mistaken for something else. But he still wanted her.

Sula Mae Smith was living alone waiting for her father to return from Camp Augur. He had been gone for a long time, and she had lost her mother during that time. She was all alone, running out of food, when a strange man shows up at her door. She is scared but she is also attracted to him. She invites him in for a meal when things get hot. She hopes he will stay with her and take her to Camp Augur.

A Cabin On Lonesome Creek is a very moving story. Annice Dare keeps you guessing what will happen next. I loved how she tells the story and the scenery where it takes place. A Cabin On Lonesome Creek is a great short read. It is a good book to curl up with and enjoy. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Dare has in store for her next book.
