Ex, Why, and Me

Having been a former Miss Horseradish, Michelle Nelson agrees to help her best friend out for the upcoming Horseradish festival. Little does she know that her past will become her present and she'll be faced with a love from her youth. After a disastrous one night stand, the last thing she wants is to be partnered with Ryan in the scavenger hunt. When these two former flames come in contact a conflagration is inevitable.

Ex, Why, and Me was a joy to read. I was first drawn to this book because of the title. It just struck me as funny. Susanna Carr writes romance with humor weaved in perfectly. Her dialogue is so funny and the characters are witty, that any book written by Carr is great. Michelle feels the expectations and the pressures from those around her, and it’s those very things that have shaped the decisions she makes. Ryan never reached for what he really wanted because he always thought it was beyond his reach. Both Michelle and Ryan can be identified with because of the realistic flaws they both have. The attraction between them is obvious, but they both constantly think “what if” and hold back. The scavenger hunt is an added bonus. Watching Michelle and Ryan interact, made for great reading. Reading any book by Susanna Carr is always a pleasure and Ex, Why, and Me is no different.
