Bloodlines 2: Conduit

Copper is at home when she receives a frantic call from her twin sister, Crimson. By the time she gets to the phone, her sister has already hung up. When Copper calls the number back, a man answers the phone leading her to believe that Crimson is in trouble. Copper decides to go to her sister’s hometown to see what trouble she has gotten herself into, only to find no trace of her. Deciding the only way to find any information about her sister is by impersonating her, Copper sets out to dig into Crimson’s life. Soon, she meets Crimson’s boyfriend Bastian, which she recognizes as the voice on the phone the night her sister disappeared. Copper is attracted to him immediately, but fights her attraction since he is her sister’s boyfriend and she wonders if he is involved in her sister’s disappearance.

Bastian is a vampire that cannot read Copper, but immediately realizes that she is not the sister she says she is. He decides to play along for the time being to see what she knows, but when he starts having feelings for her, he tells her that he knows who she is and explains to her that her sister has been kidnapped. While they work on finding Crimson, Bastian discovers that Copper is a conduit. A very rare breed, that is in danger if anyone finds out what she is and Bastian sets out to protect Copper from any vampires wishing her harm. Can Bastian find Crimson while keeping Copper safe? Is he fighting a loosing battle?

Conduit is the second book in the Bloodline’s series and not to be missed! This story kept me enthralled until the last word with the vivid imagery, passionate sexual encounters, and the fantastic characters. Copper is a strong woman that fights for those she loves while still having a touch of vulnerability. Bastian is a powerful man that is also sensual and charming. When these extraordinary characters come together, the sparks fly. Conduit is a dark and passionate tale with so much depth and personality that it will leave you wanting more.

I know how some series are disappointments since the following stories never live up to the first, but let me assure you that this is not one of them. This story is as strong and powerful as the first and I am highly anticipating the third book of this series. I have to say that Mechele Armstrong’s writing is only getting better and she is one author I cannot read enough of.
