Rayne is out hunting on the king’s land to provide food for her starving family and ill mother when she is caught and handed over to the king for punishment. The king decides that Rayne would be a great addition to his harem and has her put in his bedroom, but when she tries to kill the king, he decides to kill two birds with one stone by sending her to Stryder, the demon keeper, where she will be a sacrifice for the Death Drake he protects there.

Rayne is determined to escape Stryder and the dragon in order to get back and provide for her family. She decides that the only way to keep the promise to her sister that everything would be fine and she wouldn’t be caught on the king’s land is by getting close to Stryder in order to find a way home before ending up as a snack for the dragon. Will Rayne be able to find her way back to her family?


Hellcat is an exciting tale that will leave readers believing in a world of dragons and hero’s. I found the characters to be well written and highly engaging and was pleased that Rayne’s character was strong and smart with plenty of spark and fire. Stryder was an excellent example of a great and sexy hero with his own faults and doubts. I think author Desiree Gelsi has created an engaging tale with lots of steamy, sensual, love scenes that will carry readers off to a new world they will hate to leave. I give Hellcat 5 Angels.
