Sara’s Charm

Sara Murphy has set out to capture the paranormal on film, and is delighted to hear from her new neighbor that the Victorian house she has just moved into, is haunted. As night draws in she sets up her cameras and looks forward to capturing the spirits on film. However, things don’t go quite as planned and Sara instead finds something much more intriguing, propelling her in a completely new direction.

Samhain is always a special time of year; for many it just means Halloween and sweets, however for Wiccans and other pagans it means the start of the Celtic new year and also the time of year when the spirit world is closest to us. It is during this magical time that Vanessa Hecate has decided to set her story, and in doing so, has created a wonderful tale that will have the reader intrigued and delighted right up till the end.

Sara’s Charm is a very short tale, but Ms. Hecate has been able to produce some fantastic three-dimensional characters that the readers will be able to associate and sympathize with. As a practicing Wiccan, Ms. Hecate has been able to draw from her knowledge of the religion and has incorporated it into the story in a very refreshing way as there are few such works in which this has been so successfully done.

I loved this short tale, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys tales of mystery and love and I don’t think people will be disappointed at all. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what Ms. Hecate has next to offer.
