The gods of the past have little pity on others and when one makes a mistake, even if it is to protect their own family, retribution can be swift and long lasting. Vali learned this to his misfortune and has been condemned to live a life of a wolf except for the three days of the full moon every month. Never putting down any ties or finding any comfort that a human needs with their own kind, Vali awakens as a man and for once in as long as he can remember he finds himself near human habitation. Before he can even think, he hears a woman, Deltinica, and goes to her aid. With his help they are saved, he decides to spend his short three days and help them. Vali has not seen a woman in longer than he can remember and she ignites urges that haven’t been satisfied in ages. As Vali and Deltinica get to know each other, they fulfill each others needs and each completes the other. Their only obstacle is the curse that has hung over Vali’s life for so long. Vali is afraid to stay and possibly hurt Deltinica without even realizing it when he is in wolf form. How will Deltinica react when or if she ever finds out what is really wrong with Vali? Will Vali find a way to keep the wolf from wandering as he has for all these long years? Will Vali and Deltinica find a way to be together?

Ms. Shannon has once again woven a story that catches and holds the reader from the very beginning. The use of ancient mythology adds to the plot and enriches it. The quickly forming friendship between Vali and Deltinica adds spice and warmth to the book. I loved how Vali is willing to lay his health on the line for a stranger even though he knew that nothing could hurt him. Deltinica is willing to give a complete stranger a chance beyond what in truth is normal expectations. The love scenes are a compilation of all their feelings for one another and were very beautiful to behold. The belief that love can conquer all if one is willing to put everything they have on the line is shown through the actions of Vali and Deltinica. Thanks go to Ms. Shannon for an enjoyable read.
