Finally taking a break from watching her Alzheimer stricken father, Melody Forbes has a run in with Reese Torrin at a hockey game after his disparaging remarks about her brother’s playing. Although Melody knows that Reese is the drummer for the famous heavy metal band Façade and that he’s actually one of her brother’s good friends, he just rubs her the wrong way. However, later that evening, after the bottom drops out of her world, he has her up against the wall and was rubbing her in all the right ways. With all the personal things in her life flaring up, she can’t handle a relationship, especially with a jerk like Reese…but she definitely wants him. Now she just has to decide if she can handle a no strings attached affair.

Reese Torrin is a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. Normally. Yet there’s something about Melody that has him doing things he normally wouldn’t. Her strength in the face of everything that’s happening with her father as well as her hot body and her smart mouth have him off balance. He knows she brings out the worst in him, at least in her opinion, but could it be something more?

As in the previous books about the heavy metal band Façade, Tonya Ramagos brings these characters to life. Sports Beats showcases the fact that Reese has a life outside of the band. He and Melody are like oil and water. Both have strong personalities and needs, making for some very intense encounters. Unusual circumstances force them together so finally they begin to realize that they have feelings for each other. If they can both work through their insecurities, they may just realize they have something worth keeping. This well paced story had me hooked right from the beginning with its well rounded, realistic characters and the almost electrical attraction between Reese and Melody. Although it’s not necessary, if you’ve read the previous Heavy Metal Seduction stories, you won’t want to miss Sports Beats.
