As a Level One gladiator, Kira knows how to plan a battle, capitalize on her strengths, and most importantly how to win and survive. Her latest fight should be easy; she has been matched against a newbie. However, her reaction to her opponent surprises her and as events within the ring transpire, this gladiator is left wanting and wondering.

Lukiamo has no idea how he came to be inside the amphitheater with a beautiful warrior, but he knows he must survive. When she inadvertently presents an opening, Lukiamo endures the battle to the end. However, her actions bind them closer than either likes, especially when those responsible for placing him on the planet see them both as expendable.

I always appreciate when an author manages to surprise me with a story. Even after reading the blurb, Bloodlust was a delightful surprise. The setting is well established; you can almost smell the blood and sweat of the participants. The connection between Kira and Lukiamo is unique and definitely contributed to some hot scenes. I enjoyed the author’s ingenuity and how she developed the story with her own flare. Even though some story elements are not overly detailed, the plot still builds to an action filled pinnacle that had me on pins and needles. As they realize almost too late that they love each other, I was breathless waiting to see what would happen. I look forward to seeing what else Jodie Becker brings readers.
