Nom de Plume

Casey Catherine Farraday dreams of being a published author. Being a secretary pays the bills, but at night she pursues her true vocation: writing. None of her manuscripts have thus far been accepted – until now! Her novel, Steam Heat, submitted by her agent and friend, June, to McCarron Publishing, has been accepted. It seems June was right. Writing in a different style, under a Nom de Plume, was the way forward. Except now the publishing house believes the author to be a man and this is a sticking part of the contract. Casey faces some tough decisions. Which path does she take? And will she finally meet her hunky neighbor, known only as ‘Mr Apartment A’?

Presley Frawley had lived the high life in Europe, but news of his estranged mother’s death caused him to rethink what he wants to do with his life. He wants to make a go of her publishing business, McCarron Publishing. Yet, acquisitions are a board decision and their latest acceptance has Presley fuming. He doesn’t want the book to be published, for it is too close to a representation of the old him for his liking. Will he be able to stop the publication? And will he finally gain the courage to approach his delicious neighbour – known only to him as ‘Apartment B’?

Toni LoTempio’s Nom de Plume is a fabulous read that is rich in hilarity. The main characters, in addition to being marvelously developed, are completely endearing. In business, they are working against one another, though their real identity is unknown to the other. In private, they are drawn to one another, though both had difficulty approaching the other. Nom de Plume is a tale that will have you wondering whether the rule of six really exists, for it certainly seems that everyone is connected in this tale. That Casey and Presley do not find out the whole truth about one another is amazing, considering the number of instances where the truth could have come stumbling out of the closet. I was hooked on this read, absolutely could not put it down. I was laughing the whole way and having a whale of a fun time. Ms. LoTempio’s writing style is fabulous and has ensured that I’ll be on the lookout for her work in future. Nom de Plume is truly a brilliant tale, one I cannot imagine not having read, for it is so good I could just eat it (did devour it, in fact!). I strongly believe Nom de Plume is a novel you’ll adore and find very tasty, too!
