Wesley finds himself the prime suspect to the murder of Peppy John, his rival, seeing that he lost to him. Now with the murder and his name on the spotlight it brings in a woman from his past. He thought he would never see Caitlyn Daniels again wreaking havoc in his life. As a young boy he thought she would be the one woman in his life. Growing up as friends she knew everything about him yet one death tears them apart forever making him sway from other women. His mother’s death separated them yet another death is bringing them together again, only this time they want Wesley dead for good. He’s in the biggest race of his life and must decide whether he wants to win or win Caitlyn’s heart for good keeping her forever in his life.

Caitlyn Daniels has only had one man in her life, one constant thing that has swayed her from other men. As a young woman he broke her heart when his mother passed away thinking that he blamed her for her death. Having him back in her life, Caitlyn is afraid of losing her heart to him once again. How can she protect her heart when she yearns to be his friend once again, to be able to talk without feeling the awkwardness of have been lovers? Each day is a reminder of what might have been and the past comes back to haunt them when working close together. With the killer out there she must do everything she can to see that Wesley is protected even if it means her life is in danger.

Oh man, I loved Holding Fast by Emma Sanders for this author has a hit with this race car book. As a kid Wesley had big dreams of becoming a race car driver never thinking it will kill someone close to him. I liked Wesley because though he was a big-shot celebrity he still cared for simple things like peace and a beautiful view from his new house. I also fell in love with Caitlyn, like Wesley she also blamed herself for his mother death. Two people so torn by grief and now with the murders appearing so close to Wesley has both of them torn between protecting one another or finding the killer. Emma Sanders sure packed the story with so much intense heat between these two its hard not to see the attraction and the love they shared years ago still there. Holding Fast is not one of the fast-paced racing stories but one filled with great imagination, storyline and you can feel the heart of the story that Emma Sanders poured into the it from grief, romance to the suspense throughout each chapter which is why its highly recommended.
