The Devil’s Veil

Lily’s Shadow – Lily and Drogan are cops. They are assigned to explore an old mansion, with a certain, uncouth, reputation, a reputation that she and her partner are to thoroughly investigate. Drogan knows that many have entered the place to vanish. He fears for Lily. He doesn’t wish to lose her or have her change into some beast. Lily believes that Drogan worries for nothing. She sets out to greet the owner, Madame Veil and discovers the mansion is much more than what they expected. It is a vestibule to the supernatural, and Madam Veil knows her every thought.

Rise of the Phoenix –Grigore’s ancestors have hunted Romanian vampires for many years. Miranda is a slayer and mortal of power, who is being stalked by Jamaal, an evil ancient vampire, who informs her that as a mortal, she can never win the battle against him. She is also the love of Grigore. After Jamaal takes Miranda into the Light, Grigore loses his one love. He vows to pursue Jamaal and destroy him at any costs.

Dante’s Karma – As a reporter, Karma’s assignment is to check out a spooky mansion. A police captain was spotted in the location and is now missing. The police should be doing their own investigation instead of calling on her help. Centuries ago, Dante, a lightbringer, was turned into a vampire by Madame Veil. He never wished to become one, even though he had known of them. Now, he pledges to destroy the entire vampire race and make the disreputable Madame Veil pay her dues.

A Captain’s Curse – No one knows why Hartigan, the police captain is still missing, or the fact that he is now a werewolf. Madame Veil makes sure he gets all the protection he requires. Kendra, a white witch, who lost her sister to a vampire and her parents to werewolves, sees no reason to help the captain, even though he is needed to help bring down Madame Veil.

Saving Grace – Just when Madame Veil believes she holds all power and is unreachable to stop her madness, Witch Kendra and Oracle Karma form a union, with the others, to rid three hundred years of evil by finally destroying the iniquitous Madame Veil.

The Devil’s Veil is a powerful read. Tales that captivate the reader from the first story, I found myself rapidly flipping the pages to see the outcome. The whole theme surrounding Madame Veil and the gruesomely eerie mansion was spellbinding. I couldn’t take my eyes off the story. Rose Middleton grabs the readers hand from the beginning of the story, and hooks them all the way to the ending. The characters are engaging, hypnotic and almost leap from the pages. The writing is sharp and each story very intense. If you love witches, vampires, some mystery, and ghostly, eerie effects, don’t miss this terrific blend of spine-tingling excitement where the journey never dies. This deserves a recommended read!
