Boys of Summer: Sharing Spaces
Boys of Summer: Sharing Spaces by Stephanie Vaughan is a homoerotic contemporary short story. As the story begins, Joe D’Alessandro has come to look at a room for rent that DJ Abbot advertised in the paper. From their first appearance, they were immediately drawn to each other. First it was their look, but as they got to know each other it deepened into something more intimate. The major stumbling block was that both of them had a belief that roommates were off-limits. DJ is the faithful boy-next-door type, but underneath he is as hot as they come. Joe is the devil-may-care fun type who has never had more then a one-night-stand in his life. Will they find some happy medium in which to be together?
Ms. Vaughan in a very short time, has created a story that is complete and creative. As a reader, I enjoyed watching how DJ and Joe seemed to circle around each other while not really understanding what the other was thinking. I loved how DJ was very quiet on the outside, but inside he was like a volcano waiting to explode. Joe was a very flighty guy in the beginning, but he learns quickly. The erotic scenes were not only very hot, but also sweet and humorous at parts. Thanks to Ms. Vaughan for a very enjoyable story. I hope she will continue to write more books in this genre.
