Lights Out
Lights Out by Amber Green is a suspenseful tale set to a 1942 backdrop of World War II, with rationing coupons for commodities (meat, sugar, gas, and stockings) and women working factory jobs. While there is a battle raging, evil is closer than you think on the home front. Lorelei works as a riveter in a machine factory and that’s all she did every day until the death of her mother. She is now compelled to fight the monsters closer to home. Jack and Tommy are Huntsmen, twin brothers born to fight the monsters of the night. Lorelei, Jack, and Tommy need each other to survive the darkness.
Amber Green has written a taut and compelling story in Lights Out. The heat level in this book is scorching. Lorelei’s attempt to hide starts a rollercoaster ride of fear, excitement and burning passion, Amber Green has allowed us to peep over her shoulder and enjoy the journey. This was a daring trip into the past with air raid sirens and air wardens patrolling the streets of New York keeping the Lights Out after dark. Her Huntsmen were deliciously yummy, powerful and protective. I really enjoyed this tale and hope she takes us back visit her twin Huntsmen again.
