After only recently discovering that her grandmother was a witch, Darla is intrigued to find all her grandmother’s spell books and ritual tools up in the loft. Whilst looking after her younger sister one day, Darla looks through the spell book and decides to try summoning a pleasure demon. After setting everything up she concentrates, and to her surprise the spell works. Being a novice in spell casting however, she soon finds herself with a lot more then she bargained for.

A Sensual Situation is an intriguing story full of passion; readers will find the m/f scenes very intense. The story shows the perils of doing magic that you don’t understand and the situations that can occur because of it. Although Mistress Rae has written a fantasy book it is clear that she has had dealings with or has researched the area of witchcraft well, as the ceremonies were very well written. The only thing that stood out as a sore point for me was the use of the word warlock to indicate a male witch, an incorrect assumption many people not of The Craft make. The term witch applies to both female and male practioners of The Craft, whilst Warlock comes from the Gaelic for oath breaker, and thus can sometimes cause offense if used to describe a male witch. However as a whole this book was very well written, well researched and fast paced.

I did enjoy reading A Sensual Situation and although it is the first book I have read written by Mistress Rae, I am intrigued to see what she shall pen next. I would recommend this book for those who would like a quick, hot read with a slight paranormal slant.
