The Perils of Pursuing a Prince

The Perils of Pursuing a Prince is part of The Desperate Debutantes series.

Greer Fairchild is in search of her inheritance from her late father. After losing her chaperone to illness and later death, Greer has to rely on the only person she knows, Mr. Owen Percy. Their journey has brought them to the house of a man Mr. Percy assures her is a brute and not easy to deal with. Rhoderick Glendower, the Prince of Powys, is not at all what Greer expected, and it isn’t long before he awakens a passion in her. However with lies and betrayal afoot, she will soon have to figure out which man is honorable and which one is deceiving her. Can Greer make the right decisions in time to have a love of a lifetime, or will she allow the lies to prevent her from seeing the truth and following her heart?

Greer is by far the best desperate debutante so far. She is a strong heroine who will not let small things get in the way of her goal. She definitely put Rhoderick and his staff to the test in this wonderful story. Rhoderick was undeniably her match when it came to wits and determination. The mystery behind Kendrick and the house that haunts Greer’s dreams added a bit of a whodunit to this already intriguing tale. Julia London has once again outdone her last book with Greer’s story. Her writing style is unique and actually draws readers into the time period and the characters’ lives. This reviewer can’t wait for the next story, The Dangers of Deceiving a Viscount, coming this fall in The Desperate Debutante series.
