Until Now

Macy Jackson left home because she wanted to explore the world. As the daughter of the mayor of Crossing, she was expected to fit into a little square box. Yet Macy didn’t want to be in that box; she wanted to be on her own to explore her sexually, become an actress and just live! Everything was going just fine for her until her brother’s best friend Lucius Devon comes to town.

Lucius is tired of being the bad boy. All through his teenage years he played up the image, but now that he’s an adult, he’s tired of talking to a girl and having the girl’s father show up in his shop to warn him off the girl. He hopes that going to Melbourne to bring Macy home will help improve his reputation or at least show Macy’s family that he’s not such a bad guy. He’s definitely not prepared for Macy’s violent, “I’ll never go home and you can’t make me” attitude. Lucius is suddenly challenged and everybody knows what a bad boy does when he’s challenged.

This is without a doubt the best Rose Middleton book that I have read. She draws you so into the characters that you don’t just read the book, you experience it. This is a book where I actually skipped over some of the sexier stuff because I wanted to get into the story of the hero and the heroine. Lucius has always been such a bad boy and Macy thinks that she can use what she knows about him to make him see why she doesn’t want to return. She never realizes that Lucius is not what she always thought he was and now she has to deal with “real” Lucius. Who will win on this one? You’ll have to read it for yourself but it is a fantastic book!
