The Wild, Wild Mess: Atlanta
Loud, mouthy and a sports fiend is only a few of the charming characteristics any man willing to deal with Atlanta will have to come to love. Add to her glaringly aggressive personality, a group of friends who are like chickens in a cockfight going after some feed and you have a woman spawned from hell. Running into a six feet plus Viking is the beginning to Atlanta and subsequently Steele’s downfall. Businessman berserker, alpha male protector and a warrior who knows what he wants, Steele goes after Atlanta with everything in his arsenal. Taking things slow and steady Atlanta and Steele weave through a relationship maze on their way to what they both consider the luckiest prize of all, each other.
Where to start! The Wild, Wild Mess: Atlanta is a crazy story showcasing what some would consider an example of a true “sister”. Jayha Leigh creates a heroine with a take no prisoner’s attitude who is the epitome of a strong black woman. Her mate and color challenged lover Steele is strong in mind and berth and able to take all that she brings. Showcasing compassion and sensitivity that never takes away from his virility I wondered at times if Steele really knew what he is asking for. I found myself spitting on my screen at some of the riotous verbal sparring of Atlanta and Steele and melting in my seat at the ferocious passion these two shared. Ms. Leigh, a new comer to the world of multicultural romance, has a style of writing that mirrors her feisty heroine in that she is answering to no one and willing to be true to herself and the strong intelligent women she creates.
I will forewarn that some people might be turned off by the abrasive and crude style of Atlanta but if you open your mind, you just might find yourself laughing and loving right along with her.
