Forbidden Pleasure
The Club is a place of rumors and dark fantasies. A gentlemen’s club in the rarified arena of Washington, D.C. that caters to the desires of a unique cadre of men with desires that most of the outside world frowns upon. It’s here that we’re treated to an inside look through Lora Leigh’s Bound Hearts series.
Jethro and Mac have been friends since they met at Quantico during FBI training. As brothers-in-arms, they complete each other and fill the hole that their less than perfect childhoods have created. Their camaraderie extends to their sexual tastes and the illicit pleasures that sharing a woman creates, until Keiley. Jethro met Keiley and knew that he could love her but not the way she needed to be loved, so he steered Mac and Keiley together. Now that they’ve married and moved, he’s alone and missing them both, but he knows that it’s for the best.
Mac and Keiley have been married for three years when a tension invades the house. Something isn’t quite right and Mac has been holding himself back from making love to Keiley in all but the most mundane of ways. He feels his darker side rattling the bars of the cage he’s imposed upon it and is seriously afraid of losing control and shattering any hope of a future with Keiley. But when Keiley starts pushing and prodding, he’s not sure if caging it was the right choice.
Keiley had heard the rumors; she knew what her husband used to do with his women and his friend. She also knew that he had resigned his membership with The Club. When he begins to pull away and do a lot of thinking, she does what every wife does, tries to force him into talking with her.
A deadly stalker that followed Mac from his FBI life has made his presence known and suddenly Mac, Keiley, and Jethro are faced with life altering decisions that can ruin them all.
I have to say that this was one of the most amazing books I have read. The emotions that run rampant throughout the book, lust, love, affection, anger, and fear, are so well depicted that you are pulled into the lives of these three characters and the world around them. Not only is this a book about the unique lifestyles of Jethro and Mac, but it also has an intriguing plot that frightened me with the faceless fear of a stalker. The insidious evil that the stalker lends to the plot enriches it and makes the situations the three heroes face that much more poignant. I have always enjoyed Lora Leigh, this just reinforces why.
