When Linzee Kiley’s flighty younger sister Traycee tells her about her newfound interest in BDSM, Linzee is dubious. When Traycee tells her that she’s been accepted by Dominant David Carlisle to platonically mentor her, she’s not only suspicious of the Dom, she’s also bound and determined to meet the man and tell him to stay away from her sister.

Upon meeting David, Linzee throws insults at the man, calling him everything from a misogynist to a pervert. Yet, she’s completely thrown for a loop when the non-plussed, charming and oh-so-handsome David returns the insults with an offer - a demonstration of the BDSM she so apparently loathes.

At first, Linzee’s appalled and naturally refuses, but after recognizing her own inner arousal, and a challenge from her sister, she accepts the offer for the demonstration, although she asserts she’s no man’s submissive.

David sees another side of Linzee. Underneath her anger, brattiness and thinly disguised fear of BDSM, David sees an untrained but natural submissiveness that utterly magnetizes him. He’s hell-bent on breaking down every preconceived notion she’s ever had of BDSM. Then, he wants to make her his own.

What happens next is an intense relationship of a clashing of wills, roiling emotion and unbridled passion. But can these two survive with hearts intact, and, when all is said and done, will the hearts of the unwavering Dominant and conflicted submissive belong to each other?

His Submissive was, in a word, explosive. Reese Gabriel amazed me with the complex development of David Carlisle. That character could dominate and seduce a parka off an Alaskan in a snowstorm, should he wish to do so. His focus is single-minded, his discipline is complete and his sensuality exudes from every pore.

Linzee is intelligent, yet bratty at times, as she comes to terms with her sexuality and needs. This only fueled David’s desire to conquer her and make her his. Their sex is off the charts and no level of air conditioning could possibly cool the arousal this story creates.

While the story ended fittingly, I was still saddened to arrive at the last page. As a BDSM erotic story, this is a chart topper, one that I highly recommend. Kudos to Reese Gabriel for one heckuva ride.
