Samhain Scorchers Anthology

Seven hot stories and every one will set you on fire.

Rusty Wicks' One Way to Venice tells the story of Jane, a lonely woman who has journeyed to Italy to escape her troubles. But bad luck seems to have followed her because instead of taking a boat to an island where she will learn glass-blowing, she ends up at an island cemetery. Wandering the island, she meets a man who excites her beyond belief. After having earth-shattering sex with the handsome stranger, she learns he is not what he appears to be. But does it really matter when her passion brings her back again and again?

In J.T. Schultz's Destiny's Star Daria, a witch, flees a wicked warlock and is taken to the safety of her protector's family who are werewolves. One look at Levi's cousin, Ryland, and Daria knows she has found her mate, and Ryland cannot stop the way he is drawn to her. Can a witch and werewolf prince win the battle against evil without sacrificing their love?

B.J. Franklin's Faith, Hope and Chastity takes a 300 year old female vampire on a search for a virgin on Halloween night because she will only drink from virgins. She happens upon a male vampire who also has a fondness for virgins. He is a beautiful fallen angel who excites her, but she runs away. What will happen when the mysterious vampire follows her and wants to join her private party?

In Michelle Houston's Laws of Nature, a woman is captured by a would-be friend. Even though Shay escapes, she is helplessly shackled by handcuffs made of silver. While trying to break free, her handsome, nerdy neighbor, Garrett, steps in and helps her. She had known him for two years as the calm boy next door, but suddenly, she is lusting after him. Before she will allow her desire to rule her, she has to tell him what she is. A were-fox. Can he accept what she is and will he accept who he is…her mate?

Bethany Michaels' Hart and Souls is a story about a woman who is a ghost relocator. Jordan is called to remove a ghost from a house, but the ghost insists he is not dead. When Jordan tries to convince him that he is indeed dead, she feels heat instead of cold…a heat so intense it flames into passion. What will happen when Jordan's ghost finally accepts that he is dead and fades away? On a search to find out who he was, will she find the truth about his death, or something else?

In Shannon Peters' The Raven's Curse, Lexie reveals all her lonely, frustrated thoughts to the statue on the roof of her building. One night, instead of talking to a statue, she finds herself talking to a flesh and blood man. When she finds out he actually heard all she had spoken of, she is embarrassed. But what does it matter when he makes mad, passionate love to her. Only at sunrise, when he becomes a statue once again, does she realize he has stolen her heart. Little did she know that letting him see into her thoughts and feelings would cause him to fall in love with her in return and break a 600 year old curse.

In Michelle Marquis' The Doomsday Incident aliens have invaded Earth. With no need to keep prisoners incarcerated, they are released. Maria has always feared Nate, a known murderer, but now he is free. When Nate saves her life, Maria begins to look at him in a different light. Not only is she beginning to trust him, she is beginning to lust after him. What's a girl to do when a sexy man demands sex as payment for saving her life?

Each of these stories was a delight to read. They all had great heroes and heroines. My favorites had to be J.T. Schultz's Destiny's Star and Michelle Houston's Laws of Nature. Daria and Ryland in Destiny's Star are a hot couple. I would have liked to see them have a few more occurrences between them to stretch out their characters more, but overall, they were great together and the love scenes steamy. Maybe that is why I would have liked the story to go on. The secondary character, Levi, was great. I would like to see him have his own story.

Shay and Garrett in Laws of Nature were a good combination. They worked well together, and I also wanted them to have a few more adventures to strengthen their relationship. Their hot, fast and furious sex got me all worked up. I wouldn't mind finding myself a sexy neighbor like that to come to my rescue.

Samhain Scorchers Anthology was exactly that…scorching.
