The Legacy
Noah Calhoun has grown up. After an accident that nearly causes his father, Tyler's, death, Noah strikes out on his own. He never truly felt like a Malloy, so he roams from town to town looking for a place where he will fit in. At his latest stop, he is offered the job as sheriff in a small town. With a bounty hunter as a father, Noah knows he can handle the job. Besides, he wants to feel useful and believes he can help the town.
Rosalyn Benedict has been living on the streets for a long time, but Noah only wants to help. The town has shunned Rosalyn because of her mother's past, but Noah doesn't listen to them and believes there is good in everyone. Rosalyn avoids him at every turn until she makes the mistake of trying to outsmart him in her quest to stay out of his way. But Rosalyn doesn't know that Noah was once just like her, and it isn't long before he catches up to her. They strike a friendship and find themselves not only enjoying each other's company, but wanting to spend time together.
Rosalyn isn't sure what her feelings for Noah mean, but she begins to crave being with Noah and wants to trust him. Noah feels the same way about Rosalyn but Noah has other problems to deal with, like why the mayor and local cattlemen are insistent that while they are paying Noah's wages, they expect him to do their bidding, regardless of what it may be. Anxious to get to the bottom of the ongoing problems, Noah seeks out and speaks to the old sheriff. And what he finds out will lead him into a battle not only for land, but for what is right and just. With the help of Rosalyn and some of his newfound friends from town, he sets up a plan to right all the wrongs made before him. Oh, and did I mention…the Malloy's are always anxious to help one of their own.
Just like all the other Malloy stories, The Legacy, grabs you from the first page and doesn't let you go until the end. Beth Williamson pens a great western and puts you right beside her characters, living their lives and taking part in their adventures. Noah is all grown up, all man, and sexy as all get-out. Rosalyn is a strong female character who isn't afraid to put herself out there, to help where it's needed, even when she wasn't asked for help in the first place. This couple will take you through the many twists and turns of friendship, trust, and a passion burning so hot and bright, you may need a fan and sunglasses. The Malloy's stole my heart at the beginning and keep me coming back for more. This is the last story in the Malloy series. Let's hope for more in the future…there are a lot of Malloy children out there.
