Along for the Ride

Detective Megan Matthews hated seeing Ryan Lucas show up at her crime scenes. Ever since he’d taken that photo of her bringing down a suspect, she’d had nothing but trouble. The bad part was, she not only saw him at work, but he was also one of her sister’s friends. Now to find out that he was supposedly her fiancé and that he was going on vacation with her family; what’s a girl to do? Megan will play along with him to find out just what he has up his sleeve, but what she hadn’t counted on was the heat the two of them generated whenever they got close to each other. She’s always right- well that’s what she knows and what others have told her - but will she also be right in that once the vacation is over so are they?

Ryan has been in love with Megan ever since he accidentally too a picture of her and the suspect they called “The Preying Mantis”. He’d done everything to get close to her, only she hasn’t given him the time of day. Now, with the help of her sisters, maybe he’ll be able to show her that they really do belong together. He’s given himself a year to convince her and now time was almost up. Will his plans backfire and will he lose her forever?

Along for the Ride is a story about two people who are so different that you wonder how they’ll be able to come together. Then you realize that’s what makes this one such a great book. The reader gets to see how Megan’s character comes to life as she learns that maybe she’s not always right after all. Ryan’s character is one that will have readers wondering one moment if he’s a stalker or really just wanting Megan because he does love her. These two characters burn up the pages with the heat they generate, and the family dynamics are so true to life that the reader will be able to identify with them completely. I laughed aloud at the antics of her younger sisters when they decided to help Ryan convince Megan that he’s the one. I could just picture the looks on their faces as they plotted against her. Ms. Pillow has written a novel that will have readers laughing and grabbing those tissues. She definitely comes through once again for her readers and gives them what they want: another book for the keeper shelves.
