Ancient History
The women in her family had talents. That’s why Molly Rourke’s Aunt Star could see that she was blue. That is to say, Molly’s aura was blue. Molly knew why, but she’d never told her family. It had been five years and a month since she’d married Scott, and exactly five years since he’d handed her the divorce papers. Why would Scott show up again, after all this time, unless he wanted something from her?
Professor Scott Sheridan needed his ex-wife. He wanted to win the grant to renovate and redecorate the second and third floors of Monticello, and he was up against some stiff competition in the University of Virginia’s team. That’s why he needed Molly—a well-known furniture expert and historian. He needed her talent to feel what had happened in a room, to feel the history of a piece of furniture by touching it. The fact that he still loved her was beside the point, wasn’t it?
I picked up this book because of the connection to Monticello and the Charlottesville, Virginia area, and found it quite fascinating. The author skillfully uses this well-known historical area as a setting for a novel of romantic suspense with paranormal overtones. Though the pacing was a bit uneven, the story was generally fast-moving, and kept my attention from beginning to end. Author Penny Dawn has a vigorous writing style that makes the story lively, and her love scenes are very sexy and filled with emotion, as well. Though this is definitely erotica, the male/female love scenes are between a loving couple. I enjoyed this novel a great deal and recommend it highly.
