Gabe Matheson has never forgotten about Tory Sinclair and the passion they shared. Going on a Dating Game, he never expected that his mystery woman was going to be the girl he ran away from, Tory. Now that he’s got a second chance he’s making it count this time. He wants to make her see they were meant to be together. The thing is that Tory doesn’t want her heart broken again because the first time it hurt her too much. Who can resist Gabe? He’s a gorgeous, famous football player and most of all he’s still eligible, making Tory wonder how she is going to resist him this time. Can Gabe convince Tory on this weekend dating trip that he wants her forever this time?

Tory Sinclair has had it with jocks, well at least one in particular, Gabe Matheson. She has no idea what possessed her to join the Dating Game. She only knows that she is not going to lose her heart again to Gabe. As they get to know one another again Tory starts to wonder if maybe him running away before was a good thing. All she knows is that the passion is still there, but can they get passed the history they had before to make it in a long-lasting relationship this time.

The Last Thing I Wanted by Heather Rae Scott is a nice tale about second chances. You have Gabe who has never moved on in relationship for his heart is always still on Tory, and then you have Tory who really hasn’t found the right person for like Gabe she is still stuck on him. Can these two get passed it? I loved the fact that it was fast-paced and it never once faltered. I loved Heather Rae Scott for making the characters so likeable. You can tell the passion is there my only regret is that I didn’t get to read the first in this series but this does well for a stand-alone. Great job.
