The Warder’s Vampire is Book 4 in the Warder’s series by Viola Grace.

When Serafina Zenecar’s pregnant sister asks her to serve as guardian of the Repository of Magical Artifacts on All Hallows Eve, Sera readily agrees, and quickly finds herself in over her head, even though she is the only known female dhampir (a cross between a Warder and a vampire). One of the items in the Repository calls to her – a portrait of a captivating man, a warrior vampire, and when a freak phenomenon causes a magical reaction, can Sera deal with the consequences?

The vampire from the portrait is suddenly real and he’s even more mesmerizing in person. Francesco Berwick, called Franc, is at a loss to explain how he’s been brought to Realm, and he’s getting few answers from the very attractive dhampir who summoned him. When the passion flares between them and some startling events occur, will Franc be able to keep Sera safe?

The Warder’s Vampire is an otherworldly book about powerful magic and all of our favorite paranormal races mixed up together. Viola Grace is just wonderful at world building, and she shares her vision of the supernatural kingdom, called Realm, in a fresh and intriguing way. Sera and Franco are definitely a match for each other in more ways than one, and watching them learn each other was fascinating. Characters are depth-appropriate for the book length, and I really loved how the author went outside the norm as far as how she portrayed their powers. You’ve never seen half-breeds like these before! As I entered into this series with this book, I’ll be hunting up the others and getting my Realm fix. Five Angels!
