Born to be Wilde
As soon as ex-marine Joel Wilde heard his friend’s voice on the phone, he immediately recognized him and knew that he needed help. Zach Marshall has a drastic gambling problem, and this time he has gone too far in his bets. He has put his younger sister in danger, and now he is asking Joel to watch over her until he can get the bet paid off. Joel agrees to watch over his sister Lora but makes sure that he tells him that he has to get help for his gambling addiction. When Joel sees Lora, he is blown away by her looks and the chemistry that comes to life between them. Now he just has to watch over her and keep the friendship platonic even though that’s not what Lora has decided she wants.
The first time that Lora sees Joel in the bar where she works she falls into immediate lust with him. When she finds out that he is an ex-marine who served in the war with her brother Zach, she decides that he is a good person to trust and decides to go out with him. Lora is not looking for a guy but there is something about Joel that draws her to him. When she decides that she wants more than the friendship that he is offering, she turns up the heat and tries to make him want her. Will Joel be able to maintain the platonic friendship or will things get hot and heavy between the two of them?
Maybe it’s because I haven’t read a Janelle Denison book in a while, but I do believe that Born to be Wilde is the best Wilde book that I’ve read. Joel Wilde is the perfect hero.
He’s an ex-marine who served his country, and when one of his former comrades comes asking for help, he does not hesitant to say yes. There are a lot of things in this book that show that Joel is struggling with things and Lora can sense the struggle within him. A lot of the struggle comes from his childhood but Joel will have to learn to let go of that before he can learn to love Lora. This book really made me stop and think about the soldiers who are overseas now. They have given up their lives to go and protect us, and we have no idea about what they are going through now or what they will go through when they get back. Ms. Denison, I do believe that you have written your best book yet, and I’m proud to give this riveting book a 5 angel Recommended Read review.
